No you do not need to take a trip to the sea side in order to do this (although it is a handy excuse to have a trip to the beach), if you do not have sea water from the sea or ocean readily available you can place a small amount of sea salt into a bowl of water and it will do the same job. 

 

Once you have your salt water handy take your crystal(s) in your hand and immerse them in the salt water for a few moments before carefully patting your crystal(s) dry with a clean cloth. The salt water cleanses the energy from the stones but be sure to clean your crystals using clean water afterwards.

 

Please make sure that you check that your crystals are happy with water, there are some which are too soft or brittle to handle water and the last thing any crystal lover would want would be for their crystals to fracture, break or even dissolve because of the exposure.
